Hey everyone.
I am feeling really crappy, the more this journey goes along the more negative I seem to feel? Its the we can't be sure and the you will have to wait and see what happens, no one knows etc...
I have stage 3 breast cancer with 7 nodes out of 14 involved. My chemo didn't really do a very good job, but the tumours didnt get worse throughout the chemo, not sure if that was due to the chemo or not.. My cancer is really aggressive and I am just so scared that it has snuck out of my nodes and has escaped else where.
I am due to start radio therapy once my mastectomy wound has healed etc.
They have said its 50/50 as to whether it was still contained or whether it could of snuck else where.
Are there any positive story's out there where nodes have been involved with a stage 3 cancer and they have had the all clear? I just feel like it will never be gone and this will be the end. (Sorry to sound so negative, but I can't stop these thoughts.)
Hi, I know how you feel. I had mastectomy in October for large BC and 7/14 positive nodes. Some days I am really positive and other days just so negative. I am hoping the chemo and radio do their jobs and mop up any stray cells. It would be nice to read some positive stories x
Hi Mel, thanks for commenting. Did you have chemo before your mastectomy? I just hate the fact that you don't know whether it's stayed in its primary position it's so so unsettling I just can't seem to think positive. Let's hope some comments come through x
There was no mention of trying to shrink mine first. Had mastectomy and now having chemo to kill any stray cells x
I had a lumpectomy and node clearance. I was told that my scans showed a complete pathological response so i was horrified when after surgery i was told that that wasn’t the case. I am on Kadcyla and hoping that that does the job. I like you have bad days and i fear it will appear elsewhere. But i try to live one day at a time and in the land of denial. I wish you well on your journey. Try to stay positive x
Hi I had lumpectomy and full node clearence....following a 5 out of 11 positivity..in nodes. ..back on 14th Dec. the surgeon sent a letter to gp stating there was evidence of capsular escape which totally threw me into panic and thinking the same as you. CT scan showed it hadn't spread and no active cancer . I was really surprised as I was 100% sure it had escaped. my grade was 2 so I guess not a quick spreader? but stage 3a as it had gone from tumour to nodes. now on chemo taking it one day at a time, mostly! please try not to panic about thins you don't know yet....just concentrate on today and nothing is going to happen today xxxx
