Lumpectomy

Hi,  mine is the same,  didn’t know that’s what they would do until I looked after surgery,  I assume it’s a place where the scar will show less x x

Mine is same too. Really think scar will disappear where it's positioned. Quite clever, really. 

My tumour was in the upper inner quadrant  quite a distance from my nipple. I had a round block mammoplasty where the surgeon made an incision all around my areola, removed the tumour and reshuffled the remaining breast tissue and then did a bit of a breast lift.

I had quite a large lump, around 4 cm and am really pleased with the result. I have a circular scar like you describe but my nipple is also a bit higher.

All clever stuff 

My lumpectomy in 2013 was via the nipple as you’ve all had and I tell you, once it healed properly you’d have been incredibly hard pushed to see it. Medical students missed it entirely when I was examined recently, very clever x

I had the same and 8 months on you can barely see the scar.It’s a great cosmetic result.

The oncoplastic syrgeons usually do a great job of removing the BC whilst looking to give the best cosmetic result. My tumour was deep in my lower breast so my surgeon went into my breast on the crease underneath so not at all visible. Her work was recently admired by the radiologists during my radiotherapy and she got great margins too. Such skill

Mine is also upper inner quadrant, didn't think about it before, i'm seeing my surgeon later this week, i just presumed i'd have a scar where it is?? just finished  4 docetaxel having herceptin/phesgo still as her2 positive
