Just received a copy of my post op Results Letter which shows a change in results of Receptor Status from PR8 to PR0. Rung BCN to check who confirmed initial diagnosis was incorrect. What will this mean treatment wise?
Ok, this is very weird and demands an explanation, so I'd insist on getting one.
This link explains about ER and PR status: https://www.breastcancer.org/symptoms/diagnosis/hormone_status/read_results
As for HER2, this has to do with a certain protein. When the status is "positive," they can target it as part of the systemic treatment designed to stop the cancer from multiplying.
I'd address any questions regarding the change of treatment plan to the consultant, but the link above talks about it a little too.
