I had a bilateral mastectomy 6 days ago and my bruising is extensive and I can 'hear' fluid. Any advice on dressings?
Hi Tina24, are the drains still in? If you are concerned about the dressings it's best to contact your breast nurse, and tell her about the fluid, in case it needs to be dealt with. Bruising at this stage is not unusual, but again, best to let the nurse know the extent of it. To quote a GP I used to know, "I'd rather be contacted about 'nothing' 9 times out of 10, than miss that 10th time where it is 'something.' " No way to know if this is 'nothing' or 'something' until you talk to them, even only for peace of mind.
