Hi all, I had mastectomy on the 27th of January; consultant last week to say that I need chemo and radiotherapy. She suggested I have the above test to ascertain if the chemo is actually needed. Has anyone else had this test? I am lucky that my work pays for private insurance so I can have it.
thank you
June
Hi June. I had this test via my NHS treatment. It isn’t offered everywhere. I was all geared up for chemo, had my appointments all lined up when the results arrived. Unexpectedly I may add as the trust changed their criteria for doing it and I was one of the first.
My result was 13 so my oncologist said she could not refer me for chemo as it would do more harm than good.

I had the test too as on the fence re chemo. I was offered test to help decide if neede chemo. Score came back as 11 so just had radiotherapy. Both oncologist said chemo would in my case do more harm than good. We do and it was hard trusting the experts xx
Hi Gwills I was all prepared for chemo, had my appointments for portocath, heart scan, wig fitting etc organised when my Oncotype DX results arrived. Neither I or my oncologist were expecting them. My score was 13 and my oncologist said she couldn’t ethically give me chemo as it would do more harm than good. Started immediately on Letrozole and just about to have radiotherapy.
