Hi all,
I had IDC and DCIS.
My onco score was 10 on the IDC removed, and I had 3 more surgeries for the DCIS until the margins were clear, followed by radiotherapy. Lymph nodes were clear.
I've been taken off 20mg tamoxifen by my oncologist for a month, to double check that everything I have been going through, all the side effects, is definitely caused by it.
If it is, I have the option of dropping to 10mg a day.......has anybody else gone to 10mg?
Hi there, I noticed your post has not had any responses as the site is quite busy. I am sorry I cannot help you myself, but my answer will pop your post back on the top of the list again and I am sure someone will be along soon.
Hi
I’m sure this has come up before on here but those women may not visit the site anymore - but if you do a search for Tamoxifen 10mg in the search box you should find a few threads where reducing or changing to two 10mg tablets per day was discussed.

I couldn't tolerate 20mg and now take 10mg. The oncologist said it was better than nothing.I had oreviously been taking Letrazole but it affected my bladder too much as did the 20mg Tamoxifen. I have tried to find out how less effective 10mg is but there is virtually no information re this. My oncologist said everybody metabolizes drugs differently and they don't really know the optimum dosage for every person. I hope this helps.
Thank you.
Do you find it any better on 10mg? My oncologist said the same, that being in 10mg is still good
I am ok with the 10 but still suffer from fatigue brain fog and bladder issues. I have to change to Letrazole or similar after five years. I am two years in and try not to think about it if possible. Hope this helps you.
I didn't require chemo or radiation but the oncologist says this is belts and braces stuff as although I have a statistically low chance of recurrence they don't know for certain.
