Hi, went for pcr yesterday ready for my 4th chemo on Wednesday. Had result this morning covid positive. To say I am gutted is an understatement.  Chemo now postponed for 2 weeks. At the moment I have no symptoms but if I develop symptom can go into hospital for an infusion of anti-virals. Has anyone had this?  I have tried to be careful where covid is concerned but live with hubby and 3 teenagers, but we do laterals regularly and not had any positives.

  • I too tested postive yesterday had temp, went in for bloods to check I was ok covid swab came back postive. Hope your ok x

  • Has your treatment been delayed?  Hope you don't have too bad symptoms.  I still don't have any symptoms and hope it stays this way.  It is so hard to avoid covid when hubby has to go to work and kids to college and school.  I have done so well to avoid covid for last 2 yearsx

  • Yes treatment delayed for 1 week, I have cough sore throat but not heard anything about anti viral. Yes I've avoided it until now and now 4 out of 5 of us in the house have it. Glad you have no symptoms x

  • How does one go about getting antivirals?

  • Hi in my hospital they apparently have a set up if anyone who is having active chemo and 3 months after last session, that if they get covid and have symptoms they can have infusion of anti-virals.  Within half an hour of my text message yesterday saying covid positve, a pharmacist from the departnent phoned me to check my symptoms. They had been inforned of my positive covid test    As yet I have no symptoms but if any develop this week I am to phone oncology and they will refer me to the department x

  • How you feeling Mel? x

  • Feeling fine, no symptoms of covid at all.  Stuck in isolating now till Sunday, not that I have been anywhere much since starting chemo.  A bit gutted that chemo delayed by 2 weeks, just want to crack on and get it over with. Are you feeling ok?x

    • I have a cough and feel a little rough but ok, really anxious though but I'm an over thinker anyway. Glad your ok disappointing about treatment delayed for you, mines delayed a week. Meant to start 1st paclitaxel today but will be next week instead x
