I don't have breast cancer but someone else from another group suggested I post this question here.  Thanks for your help

I was Dignosed with Pancreatic neuroendocrine cancer spread to liver in October. The problem I'm having is I find it really uncomfortable wearing a bra. The band going under the breast is the most uncomfortable. I've been going braless Nd tried sports type bra but can't get one that doesn't feel uncomfortable. Any suggestions of where I can get help with this. Thanks

  • Hello and welcome.  You tried a bra expander off eBay -shout 99p or the stretchy step into bras ?

Yes I got the step into ones, if i get my size it's uncomfortable if I get them bigger the straps keep slipping. I've taken to wearing vests but can't do that all the time

  • Sounds like you need something that goes further down the body from the breast, and is seemless. I have seen these but now not sure where the links are. I would try researching mastectomy bras, because some of them seem to have the shape you are looking for. The advantage is that these bras can fit breasts that have not been operated on as well as breasts that have, and are made taking into account the discomfort and sensitivities that can sometimes accompany breast surgeries. Also search for bras for after plastic surgery because these may answer the requirements too.

If you find something suitable I'd be interested to know, and also if you look and think they are not right.

Thank you, I will look into this. I will certainly let you know. Can't take the discomfort anymore.  I've pain just the center of my breat bone and under my ribs where my liver is.  So would be interested to see if post surgery bra would work.

  • Yeah, I know the area you are describing. It may not even be a bra you are looking for but one of those body things that I cannot remember the name of, but again, not the, "squeeze me tight until I cannot breath," type, but those that were made with the idea of proper support in mind.

  • Maybe look at the sainsburys tu super smooth scoop neck bra. I now wear them as they don't have scratchy lace, are smooth and I find them comfy. They also make my breasts look the same size!
