Hi, I'm on Tamoxifen and veniflaxine and I've put on a massive 10kg in 2.5 years.

I've tried a few diets but nothing seems to shift the weight. As a last resort, I've cut out booze and chocolate but my weight is still not shifting.

Has anyone had any success with diets whilst on these medications?

Thanks

Halo. XX

  • After my first pregnancy, a long time ago, I was left with ten extra kg. I cut out bread, and the weight started to shift. No guarantees, but perhaps it's worth trying. I did the same thing again after each pregnancy, and it always worked for me, so could possibly work for someone else.

One cautious question, though: is it really valid, traditional weight gain or could part of it be fluid retention?

  • Hi brought this up with my local Maggies and was informed that ALL hormone treatments cause weight gain. I have only been on letrozole for 3 weeks and am desperate not to put on weight - can’t afford a new wardrobe!! Apparently very difficult to lose weight whilst on hormone treatmentRage

Just another obstacle we have to cope with!!

Will be interesting to read other’s experiences on these drugs.

Good luck on this journey. xx

  • I've been taking letrozole for two weeks. I have been really bad regarding eating over Christmas. I had surgery in December and any thoughts of eating sensibly went out the window.

I'm just facing the results of my xmas excess  now and need to take myself in hand. But it seems harder than usual getting motivated.

The thought that hormone treatment can make weight loss even more difficult isn't great.Sleepy

    Any tips really appreciated
