️I had my lumpsectomy yesterday, was a success.

My gosh I has no idea how I would be waiting so long.

First appointment radioactive injection, then onto hospital for operation.

Fasting the say before 12pm -8am. I was hungry, thirsty and operation was at 1 in afternoon.I ateJoy so much food drank so much when I came around an hour later.

I was given so many medications.

I nearly fainted after getting up to try to get some movement.

I nearly had to stay in overnight.Wheeled out to my lift,I made it home for about 7 ish.

I never expected to get through it all.

I'm still a little dizzy and very sore now, have the day going around in my head.Remember everything except the surgery.

I just want to say thanks to everyone who helped me to get to my surgery on here, I can't thank you everyone individually, so this this is to everyone.

Now just got to recover ,wait for results.

But my anxiety has reduced, no tight chest , feel just a little surreal but I know in time I will recover.

Thanks

  • Well done, it’s another step behind you on your road to recovery, I hope you’re feeling better soon, rest and take it easy for now x

  • well done. don't under estimate how it will zap your energy for a few days. the amount of drugs they give you have to get flushed out (eat a little and often as not all drugs get a flush!) and rest up. I too had a long day when I had my surgery back in June. Little pottering around the house will help your get mobility back so you can take those fetching hospital stockings off too! x

  • It's a good feeling to have got the surgery done. As tired minion says take it easy and don't be surprised if you crash. I did  strongly after my (positive) results appointment just over 2 weeks later having been physically very well. I think the emotion and speed of everything - diagnosis through to op was only just over 3 weeks

    Take care xx

  • Hello Etna, I had the radioactive seed via an injection before my op and the nurse came out with a gieger counter swabbing the door handle. A lady sitting outside look very worried!  Glad you are through the op ok and just give yourself time and ... relax.

  • Hooray Etna! I'm so pleased for you! Well done, look after yourself xxx
