Good Morning
I have 2 different types of breast cancer , I am due on the 31/01 to have a double mastectomy and reconstruction.
Is there anything that I need to take into hospital to make my life easier, like button up nighty ?? Long mobile cord ? Any advice would be welcomed.
Many thanks
X
Hi
neither can I !! I’m new to this forum.
I’m due a mastectomy in 6 to 8 weeks,
Have cancer in both breasts, but not sure whether to opt for a double as one side is very tiny.
Feeling very emotional and scared
how are you?
Hello , had a bit of a rough ride (maybe read my bio) I was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer in July 21 and 2 weeks later 2 different types of breast cancer, I'm only 43.
I had a brutal 7.5 hour op to remove everything.
My double mastectomy and reconstruction are on the 31st Jan , I just want them gone now , hopefully eliminating any more risk.
For some reason double mastectomy doesn't seem to be a widely known topic, so I have sought some information elsewhere if you would like it. Basically things like buying drainage bags to hold your drains , heart cushions to support your wounds as you sleep. Etc...
I can't give you an answer what to do, but maybe talk to someone about your risks etc... I just want mine gone now
Well I’m due my surgery next week so I can’t tell you from experience but I’ve been advised to take earphones, long charger or charging pack, front fastening pyjamas, front fastening bra (although I‘ve bought this and it’s just difficult to do up pre op ) magazines and puzzle books as it’s hard to concentrate on a whole book, comfy pants! Hope that helps x
I'm having a single mastectomy on Thursday. I've bought myself some pjs from cyberjammies as they do button up tops. I bought a size up in the top and my usual size in bottoms. They also come with pockets!
I'm making a heart shaped pillow as I've left it too late to get one from Jen's Friends
I bought a couple of bras from m&s but went with hook and eye as couldn't get the zips done up
