Abdomen pain

Hi I've been on Letrazole for about 3 months and it's all been fine but over the last 2 weeks my elbow joints and thumb joints have started to be sore and I'm having low abdominal pain, feels like all my reproductive areas. Just wondering if anyone else has had this? I've been told to stop my medication for 6 weeks to see if things improve and prove it is a side effect. As you can imagine I'm a bit concerned as this is the second type of cancer I've had  and don't want it to be a third. I thought if someone else had experienced the abdominal pains it would reassure me of the side effect angle.

Thanks

  • Hi, I noticed your post hasn't had any replies yet as the site is quite busy today. My response will bump it up the list again and hopefully someone with the right experience will be along soon.

I've been taken off tamoxifen by my oncologist for a month, to double check that everything I have been going through is definitely caused by it.
If it is, I have the option of dropping to 10mg a day.

I've had considerable lower abdomen pain, feels like I'm constantly due my period, along with horrendous mood swings and bloating

  • Hi Clogga

Thank you for your reply, interesting  that you have had a similar experience  but with Tamoxifen. My abdominal pains are virtually gone since I've stopped the Letrozole  and I feel brighter in my self. I hadn't realised I had been feeling subdued as the effects were so gradually built up. I m trying Anastrazole next but wonder as 2 of the 3 drugs they use have a common side effect maybe its how they work and that some people don't respond to so well and will possibly  be the same with the new drug. I'll have to wait and see.

I hope you find lowering the dose helps with your symptoms

    Cheers x
