Hi all.
Hope you all had a good Christmas and are now heading into a promising New Year and for those who are just joining this wonderful group welcome and things do get better.
I finished my radiotherapy on the 22nd December and have for a while been on Anastrozole and Adcal with vitamin D with no problems. However over the past two weeks I have been feeling sick and appear to have indigestion problems.
What I want to know is this normal after having radiotherapy and if I need to talk to someone do I speak to oncology or breast cancer team. I'm hating feeling like this and have been eating stem ginger too combat the sick feeling, this really does work but not good for my diabetes.
Any help or ideas would be grayling received.
Hi Hellesdon, sorry you are having this. If it does not settle it would be best to speak to oncology. Nausea can be due to Anastrozole. Good luck xx
Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
Hello, I finish my 5 day radiotherapy tomorrow and have been on Anastrozole for about month now. I take Anastrozole just before I go to bed as I was finding nauseas during the day and this seemed to help. However, a few of days ago I woke up after a couple of hours with an upset stomach and bad nausea which lasted about an hour. I can't be sure, but it may have been that the spicy meatballs and Anastrozole didn't mix! I've not heard of radiotherapy making you feel sick, but would be interested in other people's experiences. When do you take the Anastrozole?
I take mine at night after my meal and around an hour or so before I go to bed. I did get nausea at the start ( 2 weeks in now) which settled but I am not sure whether that was the anastrazole or my becoming fatigued after surgery/ Results appointment etc. I know from my partner that has severe fibromyalgia that nausea often comes with bouts of fatigue so I wonder where thst is what you have Hellesdon possibly ?
Mine has gone now but I am awaiting RT so it may return !
Thank you for that as I'm also having problems sleeping and extremely tired since having a lumpectomy and radiotherapy. Will give it another week and then contact oncology.
Love your onwards and flatward as like you I don't do hills either. Thank you got your advice I will give it to next week and if not feeling better by then I will contact oncology.
You have been through a lot physically and emotionally and are only 3 weeks or so post RT so need time to rest and poor sleep will be impacting I'm sure
Hope things start to feel better soon xx
Thank you. Lack of sleep is the thing that is really getting to me. I can cope at the moment with the feeling of being sick. I've been really positive throughout every step but now just want to sleep. Will speak to oncology.
