Hi, can someone point me in the right direction for advice on buying a bra after surgery when my breasts are obviously different cup sizes please? I am around an F/G cup but not absolutely sure, I've lost so much weight and had a chunk removed from my left breast that I have changed shape and size completely. I'm guessing that I'll need to 'fill' the left side somehow but I'm not sure where to go to find out my options.  Any advice gratefully received, thanks.

  • Hi I am different breast sizes too even though I had surgery on the good side so I would match.  Surgeon isn't quite sure why but the breast that had radiotherapy hasn't shrunk the way he expected it to in fact it's bigger than it was pre surgery a year ago.

What I have been doing is wearing those elasticated pull on sports bras that stretch to fit your shape. There are no wires or clasps and they are really comfy.  They don't give you the nice shape an underwire bra does but for most of the time this doesn't matter.

When it does matter (it hasn't yet) I will probably do as you said and try a filler.  They are called chicken fillets (the name kind of puts me off using them Joy) and you can buy them from amazon.

  • Hi a charity called knitted knockers are fantastic, I had this problem and they made me inserts that were knitted and so light and soft. It really helped me. I wore post operation bras from M&S lovely and soft with the insert.

  • Thanks for the info useful to know.

  • Nicola Jane (shop in Chichester / online too) are fantastic at this!
