I'm just about to do my 4th cycle of EC-T chemo and in the last week have developed a skin rash/outbreak, with lots of little red spots whichh itch and go scabby afterwards. It seems to be all over, but is particularly itchy on my legs back and tummy. Could anybody recommend an effective cream? Many thanks in advance.
Hello Jasa, if you haven't already done so I'd suggest giving your chemo Hotline a call to let them know about the rash. From your description it sounds as though prescription medication might be needed to clear it up and prevent an infection. Hope you get it sorted soon.
I had the same issues, got some prescription lotions from the hospital and it helped, but in the end I was referred to a dermatologist who specialises in skin issues as they relate to cancer treatments. That made a real difference -- I was given several different lotions to deal with different skin issues that resulted from treatment, and after using these I saw a marked improvement and my skin is fine now.
