Hair regrowth

Finished my chemo 8 weeks ago and still had some hair which continued to Improve - and in my natural red! However it then all fell out and only very little now coming in - blonde! Has anyone else experienced regrowth only for it all to fall out again?

Also, any idea how long for eyelashes to regrow as I feel naked without them!

  • Mine started growing back a bit on docetaxel but it was very slow to grow and those first wispy hairs were almost white. My hair didn't really take off until between months 3 and 4 post-chemo. By the end of month 4, I looked like I had a buzz-cut ad was my own colour. It was also slow growing at first but has been growing as fast as it used to again for a few months now, along with finger nails. Both used to grow in very fast. I'm 11 months post-chemo.

Eyebrows and eyelashes were much slower to return. By about month 5 I could wear mascara. I ended up buying an eye serum, which I think helped as my eyelashes then grew longer than they had been before chemo.

Thankyou for this. I also found my hair was regrowing on the Docetaxol but I never really lost all my hair throughout chemo. Like you my hair was very think and  grew very quickly  - cut every 3..5 weeks. I also had quite luscious eyelashes (even at 74) as I used Revitalash eye serum. However as no lash follicles have appeared can’t use serum yet. Look forward to maybe having eyelashes for Easter!

I found I was permanently filing my nails down during chemo as they seemed to grow even quicker! Kept nails as good as before but have now been warned by local Maggies that they could still fall out?
    Ain’t life a bitch!!

Have a lovely Christmas and good health in 2022. Xxx
