Good afternoon I Have had breast surgery and now haveing radiothetapy and was wondering if any one knows which is the best deodorant to use .

Rose

  • Hello. Was advised to change to a more natural one as most standard ones contain aluminium which is not good. Personally, I am using one by Faith in Nature which is aloe vera and camomile.  I also bought a dr organics one in rose but the smell was overpowering and gave me a headache. I know Holland and Barrett have a good stock if you want to smell before you buy.  Bought mine from amazon. Not expensive x

  • Hi , I’m sure others will answer with more recent experience, but from what I remember, the advice was not to use deodorant with any aluminium in it. I bought an aloe Vera one from the health food shop that was labelled ‘no aluminium’, also no parabens or other ‘nasties’. I’m pretty sure though that I went to each radiotherapy session after showering and not putting any deodorant on that side. Also any moisturiser put on that day needs to be well absorbed prior to the rads, I think they said at least 2 hours before. You can slap on as much as you like afterwards! There’s a radiotherapy thread in the Diagnosis and treatments section which has useful links at the beginning of the thread. When does your radiotherapy begin?
Wishing you luck with it all, love and hugs, Hfxx

  • Hi

I know this might sound odd, but I don't use any now. Had all lymph nodes removed under one arm and it has taken away all pores/follicles so no sweat under there anymore and doesn't seem much under other side, well no one has said anything and I have checked, work and at home !

  • Hi I’ve just treated myself to one from Moogoo skin care, it’s aluminium free.
