Hi, I have sensitive skin and was told to use a moisturiser before, during and after treatment. I am not sure what to use so was wondering if anyone had any recommendations. I thought i would start applying it early so that if i get a reaction I will know it is the cream and not the treatment. Any help greatly appreciated.
Don't worry about it. You will be fine and they will take great care of you. The actual procedure is a doddle. We are lucky to be able to have this high tech procedure. I used to feel like an astronaut in space......(Ground control to Major Tom.......) xx
Hi, I have completed 4 out of my 5 radiotherapy sessions and so far so good. A bit of redness and heat but nothing more at the moment. My 3rd session was cancelled due to a flood so now have my last one on Monday. Thanks again for all the support and advice it makes a real difference. Wishing everyone well x
Hi Maxwell3, I’ve only just started Chemotherapy so don’t know much about Radiotherapy. My sister bought me some skin products from https://www.beautydespitecancer.com the founder Jennifer Young was contacted by her local hospital asking her to work with them to create skin care products for cancer patients. They are natural products, use glass bottles & jars due to the potential harmful chemicals in plastic, cruelty free & some possibly all are vegan so might be worthwhile having a look, take care.
Thank you for your message. I have just completed my radiotherapy and apart from feeling tired and a slightly red breast, i am feeling ok. I have been told that side effects can last for two to three weeks before an improvement but so far so good. Using Aveeno. Take care
Hi !
Just to say I use double base gel and Aveeno but also take an anti histamine morning and night .
Completed 15 RT sessions twelve days ago . Itchy rash across my chest but not too bad .
Just keep doing what works . My oncologist said 3 weeks the effects can keep coming .
Best
