Mum had her mastectomy in mid august.
Had 3 week post op consultation, doctor said they don’t have exact pathology results - waiting for her2 results for one new tumour that was discovered- wasn’t seen on mammogram so they hadn’t taken core biopsy of that.
He said sentinel nodes contained cancer- so ct and bone scan is done last week.
but we are still waiting for results and it’s going to be 6 weeks. My worry is that If surgery/chemo is the next step, this is going to take at least another 3-4 weeks to arrange after we see the surgeon!
not too sure what to do and whether this is normal. I did ring them but they can’t see any appointments. Do I ring the nurse or the surgeons secretary?
6 weeks post op..
mothing at all. I called on Thursday- spoke to admin. She said she will pass message onto nurse and she took my number. But didn’t receive a call so called back on Friday.
again the same, she said she will pass message on to assigned nurse, but no call again.
I had my surgery on Wednesday and I have been told that my histology report on the removed tumour will be available within two weeks ! It took 7 weeks from original biopsy and subsequent histology and scans to surgery. But, I have been told that the results from surgery have a two week ‘deadline’ !
