Hi everyone, I just finished my radiotherapy treatment today! I had mastectomy and immediate reconstruction surgery with implant on my left breast two months ago. I was told more likely don't need RT before my surgery but was told needed one as tumor was bigger than first anticipated. So my question is has anyone had a the same sequence of treatment and did the RT affect the implant? Just wondering what to look out for.
Hi I am looking at another surgery because they could not get clear margins, my area of dcis was larger than they scan showed. So going back to plan A, masectomy with immediate reconstruction. Can I ask if you had radiotherapy on your surgery where you had reconstruction please, my lymph nodes are clear. Best wishes and thank you xx
Yes. Radiotherapy on side where Breast Surgeon did therapeutic mammoplasty, removing 25% of breast, but no radiotherapy to the other side, where she did mastectomy and implant.
Thank you for hoping I don't have to have radiotherapy xx
