Constipation Problems

Yeah, I had constipation for up to a week after each treatment. I used Laxido once a day but it didn't seem to make much difference and I was hesitant to take more.

Instead I made "Go" cake, which did seem to help things along! Here's the recipe from another forum:

Yup me too, absolutely awful, lactulose I’m trying atm. I’m a total wind station too, really horrible, I actually put on 5lb in 36 hours at the weekend  I wouldn’t have believed it had it not actually happened to me. I’ve managed to go now though feel for you x

Thanks Anna it just helps to know I’m not struggling alone and that it is a common effect.  Chemo has a lot to answer for!

You can take up to 8 laxido in a day - it draws water to your bowel, rather than stimulates like senna does. I had to take 4 or 5 laxido a day for the first few days and even then I struggled with constipation. I was told to take them the day before as well to keep everything moving!

Thanks I'll try laxido instead of Senna and maybe take some before chemo
