Had my operation yesterday to remove my lymph nodes. What a long and stressful day. Got to the hospital for 7am to be told that my Covid test results hadn’t come back and was told to go and wait in the general waiting area. I cried so was moved to a side room. My consultant was not happy. Hospital kept chasing for the results which eventually came back negative at 3pm by which time I was dehydrated, starving and had a headache. Was then given a bed and put on a drip with a painkiller! Finally walked down to the theatre at 5pm. Anesthetist was lovely, I told her that I was very ill after my lumpectomy five weeks before. This time round I was ok. As I went down late, I had to stay in overnight. Finally got home today at 1pm with a drain in place! Hope to have the drain removed either on Friday or Monday. Thanks for the advise on here to carry it around in a tote bag. It is a pain to have as I keep forgetting about it!
Got an appointment with my consultant on 15th July for results of the operation.
Aww Phonzie, what a thing to happen, you gather your strength together to get to hospital to these nerve wracking procedures, no food, no drink, and for them not to have results, so sorry that happened to you, but a least you are home now, rest and look after yourself, hope everything is good on the 15th July x
