Hi,

Went for blood test yesterday as 5 days following mastectomy had high liver enzymes and advised to repeat test in 4 to 6 weeks which is what I've done. Received a text this morning to say Dr was going to call me Thursday but that's just way to long my anxiety was worse then its at its all time highest now! Had anyone else ever had issues with high liver levels?

  • Hi

I'm just replying to your post to see if anyone's on the site now who might have had the same issues as it's slipped off the first page.

Sorry I can't help with your query.

    Best wishes, Lesley

  • Hi, have you had chemo? If you have then that is why liver enzymes have been mesed up. I think liver gets the most damage during chemo. It will get back to normal, just takes time. I hope this help Xx

  • Hello ,

I am sorry you find yourself here, the place non of us want to be - however, it is an amazing place, the support from others traveling various paths of this journey is amazing.

Well done so far on your journey.

With regards to your liver enzymes..... do you know 'where' this reading/figures are from?

The reason I ask, I had raised liver markers in my blood - which sent me into a right panic.  Keeping this brief, I had a copy of my blood results and read it myself, one of the raised readings (I had a fair few) was Gamma GT (I think that's what it was called) - I looked into this and it relates to a 'fatty liver' - I think mine was though sitting most day and hardly exercising - I started daily walking to get blood sugars down and in turn the Gamma GT numbers came down.

Now, as I say, I don't know what your readings are or if 'enzymes' are different to blood test results.

Please try not to panic - like Raf44 says if you have had chemo it could be to do with this.

Try to find out more details, the results etc then you will have more to go on xx

I'm hoping this makes sense - only my mind says one thing and my fingers type whatever they like x
