Appointments breast cancer

Surgeon? Radiotherapist?

Does it say which department? Are you having chemo? I had a heart scan just before chemo. I also had a CT scan.

Or are you having surgery? In which case it could be your covid test. 

Had my oncologist appointment  on Wednesday explained everything well.The same day I was contacted to make 3 appointments

Pre assessment 

Start date for chemo 

No one mentioned anything else then another appointment  arrived in the post on Saturday...Just date time and at my cancer centre. No particular dept.

Are you getting bloods done at your local GP or in oncology? Could be bloods? You can find out tomorrow if you phone them at least. 

Hi Anneannie, I also saw my oncologist last week and was told I'd need a heart scan and pre-assessment chat but a  pharmacy appointment wasn't mentioned - do you know what happens at that appointment?

Also, how soon after seeing the oncologist is your chemo starting? I'm a bit concerned as the appointments I have been given are more than a month away.

Hi yes will give them a call in the morning. It's just that I thought that's what the  pre assessment appointment was for .

Hi I saw the oncologist on Wednesday 16th. Same day gave me my for the pharmacist this is telephone app.25th

28th pre assessment bloods heart checkup ? and time to ask questions .

30th 9.00 start chemo....

Thought it was all planned then another appointment arrived on Saturday for the 23rd .just date and time but doesn't say who with. Will give them a call in the morning.

My heart scan took a while (half an hour maybe?) and was in the cardiology unit so I don't think you'd have that at the same time as your pre-assessment. You don't get instant results either, so the timing of your mystery appointment sounds like it could be a heart scan. Will you report back what you find out it is? I'm curious now!

Thanks for the info Anneannie. My pre-assessment is taking place via a telephone appointment and my heart scan is separate. My oncologist said that chemo would be starting in 10 days so not sure why my pre-assessment and heart scan appointments have been booked for over a months time, will have to try ringing them today. Hi well having let my thoughts race ahead wondering why this appointment arrived when all my appointment were already booked in.It turned out consent forms needed to be signed....Wish they had just mentioned that on the appointment letter .
