Hi
I’ve already had treatment for breast cancer finished radio last year & now on daily Letrezole Tablets & Calicium & vitamin D - also have to have a 1/4ly hormone injection -
My question is , Does anyone know if its safe to Take Turmeric Tablets ?
my joints ache in the morning and Evening after Being busy all day etc & a friend suggested Turmeric was good for joint pains ? I’m 49 & until having cancer Diagnosis in 2019 Was active & fairly fit just the odd aching back & knee from old equestrian injury.
cant see to find any clarification on this & doNt want to bother GP With this as feel I’m always online to them sorting medication requests etc.
thanks
Hi
thank you, some one else said Turmeric with pepper As well . I have to see hospital next week so will now check with the pharmacist there to see what’s compatible. Sounds as if The turmeric definately works for you then with your arthritis
I take it with black pepper too (you buy it like that)
I saw some tablets today think they were By 7Seas it was a tablet plus a capsule & included ginger .
Pubmed is an on line publication of world wide trials etc a great source of info, especially as most are peer reviewed..
This site https://www.mskcc.org/cancer-care/integrative-medicine/herbs/turmeric gives a lot of information, but unless you are a medical professional you should talk to your GP or other Dr, your pharmacist maybe able to advise too, as looking at the different herb drug interactions is not for a lay person, I have no idea what a lot of these things mean, but I have been told that Tamoxifen can be affected by taking turmeric so use in cooking etc as it is such a small amount but won’t take it as a tablet which is a much more higher and concentrated dose, even though I am sure it would help me with my aches and pains.
Hi
I was on Tamoxifen but swapped to Letrizole . Thank you I’ll look at this as well - I’m just fed up of taking prescribed tablets etc so thought going down the natural self help route would be better but it’s still a bit of a minefield isn’t it .
