Hi throwing it out there, it’s my 2nd week of having Paclitaxel. Last week seemed ok! This week my body is in pain. I have had a strange shooting pain that comes and goes across my forehead. Sleepless night because of the pain.
I have spoken to the hospital and they have said that it hasn’t got anything to do with chemo. They have given me plenty of advice for to look out for and to call them if anything changes or worsens. I’m taking pain medication. They have said to contact my gp for more help with pain/painkillers.
Easier said than done trying to get hold of a GP! I have sent and e consult so hopefully I will get a reply soon.
Anyone had any problems/experience of being on this medication.
Would appreciate any advice thank you.
All new to this and it’s all very daunting!!

Hello ladies,
I was just looking through posts and glad I came upon this one. I am due to start 4 cycles of paclitaxel on 7th July after 4 cycles of AC. I am slightly anxious how it will make me feel, AC makes me feel horrible, fuzzy, fuggy, no concentration and am really hoping that paclitaxel will not mess with my head so much. I too would appreciate other’s experiences.

Hi Nicky
I've now had 6 weekly Paclitaxel cycles. Overall, side effects have been so much better than I was EC. I've had no nausea and have felt generally better. My taste is still impacted and I've had a white coating on my tongue which I have a mouthwash for. Over the last couple of weeks I would say my bowels have been more loose (sorry!). I've also been told to keep an eye out for numbness/pins and needles in feet and hands. One if my fingers is feeling slightly numb on the end do im keeping an eye on this. However, I'm still able to do lots of things and at the minute fatigue is not an issue. Hope this helps
Take care
Claire xx
I'm coming to the end of my Taxel treatment(2 more sessions) and have also had AC. I'm feeling very tired this week , much worse than previous weeks. The main side effects I've had are, horrible taste in mouth, "loose " bowels, numbness in fingers, losing 3 toe nails and loss of appetite!. It doesn't make things easier, but helps to be prepared.
Thank you Ber, did you find the head fuggyness not so bad with Paclitaxel, or did you not find that with AC?
Foggy brain was the same! I kept doing crosswords and Sudoku and even played Bridge online. I didn't beat myself up when I made mistakes. I found forgetting words the most frustrating.
