Hi I'm new to this forum. I'm having a masectomy tomorrow and want yo ask if I wear compression socks during surgery? I know it seems such a small thing in the grand scheme of things, I'd just like to know.
Yes you do , the nurses will measure your legs and May sometimes fit them for you , but you need to have them on before your operation, and keep them on generally until you are mobile again , but each hospital has different protocols on this.
I had to wear mine for 2 weeks, could take them off for an hour a day. The nurse put mine on for me and showed me a Top tip put a small plastic bag over your foot firstly then put the socks over and it slides on much easier. Hope all goes well tomorrow. Xx
