Hi my mums 76 and doesn’t use technology much so I was wondering if anyone is experiencing hot sweats and body changes after having tumour removed , like going to the toilet more , she’s just had it removed last week and had lymph node biopsy ( just awaiting results on that ) .
I would love to give her some feedback to reassure her x

she said it feels like she’s in the change again is this normal

thanks for any advise x

Hi Tracytrees  welcome to the forum. I can imagine that maybe the anaesthetic has caused a bit of a dry mouth for your mum and she may be drinking more which could be why she is running to the toilet more.

Does she have a temperature at all can you get that checked? The area of the breast where surgery took place will be red and hot to touch if it is infection and if that is the case that needs attention asap. Have they started mum on any new meds since the diagnosis as this can cause hot flushes? Sorry for all the questions just trying to see if this is anything to do with surgery or not. xxxx

  • Is she taking any hormone blocker tablets like letrozole or tamoxifen? They would give her those symptoms..

Sorry for late reply Gail , she’s not had any meds yet we are at the very start of the journey , she’s just had tumour removed - and biopsy of lymph node .. and that’s basically it, she just said the sheets are ringing wet in the night like she’s going through the change . But her meds have not changed ( her old meds ) she did say it was hot to touch though , where the lymph node was x
