Hi lovlies having a vacuum biopsy on Tuesday for an area of concern, was diagnosed with dcis on Wednesday. Can anyone advise what they use a vacuum biopsy for, I had a core biopsy for my dcis diagnosis. Many thanks
Hi Shaz52 welcome to the forum.
As far as I am aware they use the vacuum biopsy to get more surrounding tissue for biopsy and I imagine that this is part of the full investigative process to add to the core biopsy.
They may be checking to see how much of area there is involved with the DCIS and whilst I appreciate it will be a worrying time for you with this all it does sound like they are being very thorough with you.
Hi Granny59, many thanks, do you think possibly invasive then x
Best wishes
Hi Granny59 I have been advised they are scanning my lymph nodes before my biopsy this morning, could you please give me any advice..
Best wishes
