Hello, it’s nice to have someone to talk to. My mother has was diagnosed with grade 3 breast cancer in September 2020. She has had a lumpectomy and is now going through the chemotherapy process and has two treatments before radiotherapy. She has had some complications like a clot and a bad reaction to one chemotherapy treatment. She has now also developed a cough which seems to have got worse since she attended the radiotherapy assessment. I am naturally very worried and am interested if anyone else has developed a cough which involves clear mucus. Thank you all in advance and I look forward to hearing from you xx
Hi
I unfortunately can't give you any information as I personally didn't undergo chemotherapy. I did have radiotherapy and I can't see how the initial assessment would cause a cough/make it worse as it's just measuring up and an MRI. There is a warning given (amongst all the usual warnings of side effects) that the radiotherapy can cause issues, but as she hadn't started her actual radio then this clearly isn't going to be the cause. I am presuming she's done a test for Covid just to naturally rule that out?
As I say, I can't help re the chemo treatment, but as your question has slipped to the 2nd page, there may be some ladies here now that have had these side effects from chemo. or perhaps offer further advice.
Kindest wishes, Lesley
