Hello lovely people!
I just joined the forum so apologies if I'm posting in the wrong area.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer (DCIS with 2 invasive ductal tumours, both ER/PR positive, one HER2+ and one HER2-) in January. I had a simple mastectomy in March, and start chemo on Thursday 11/5. I planned to try cold capping, but have just discovered that it needs conditioner and you shouldn't wash your hair for a few days afterwards.
I'm allergic to conditioner. Is it possible to do it without the conditioner?
Thank you!
Hi there. I don’t know the answer to your question I’m afraid so wonder if it’s worth you getting in touch with Paxman (cold cap manufacturer) and asking them what might be a suitable alternative?
They have a “Contact Us” button on their website.
https://coldcap.com/hair-care/
My understanding is that it’s to stop your hair sticking to the cap, so that it doesn’t pull hair out when you take it off - if that’s right, then I think you’d need to find an alternative.
Hope it works out for you x
Maybe have a word with your treatment unit I'm sure they would have come across other ladies with allergies to conditioner as they would be the best people to talk to also I was going to surgest the paxman website but I see a lovely lady has beaten me to it lol hope you get the answers you are looking for regard Belinda xx
