Is anyone else having herceptin 3 weekly following chemo. I have had 18 weeks of chemo and herceptin alongside and now continuing herceptin 3 weekly til October. I had surgery last week and waiting to find out the outcome next week and find out about radiotherapy. Everyone on here seems to be having herceptin by injection but I have it intravenous so wondered why my treatment is different. Anyone got any idea, there seems to be so many differences in people's treatment plans

  • Hi

i am currently working through 18 cycles of pertuzamab and trastuzumab which will finish in November 2021, 4 of these were alongside my 7 cycles of chemo.  Mine are also to continue intravenously.

I have also heard some people are now getting the P&T by injection and this has only been recently approved for use in Britain. So some cancer units are using it where others aren’t.  I think it is called phesgo and if you put it in the search box above you will see other posts about it.

I had my surgery in March and have just finished 15 sessions of radiotherapy and am now relaxing with my very red breast!

good luck with the rest of your treatment x

How soon after chemo and surgery did you start radiotherapy? How did you feel whilst having radiotherapy?

I had trastuzumab weekly and Herceptin every 3 weeks intravenously for 12 weeks. I finished trastuzumab on 1 April and am now having Herceptin by injection every 3 weeks until I have had 14 cycles in total.   I started daily radiotherapy on Tuesday and will have my final treatment on Monday.
