My mental health is really struggling at the moment!! Emotionally a wreck...

I had my surgery cancelled 2 weeks ago (28th April) because they found another lump while inserting a magseed in my tumour.

So i had to have another biopsy which was super fast... 2 days later then we had the bank holiday, so i rang up on Tuesday to find out what was happening they told me the other lump was benign.. So a relief, then they said i would get another date for surgery.

But that was 4 days ago and i keep ringing and getting no where so im in pieces at the moment and trying to hold it together! sleep is difficult and i just feel really emotional...

No one is telling me anything and its scary.. |I rang again this morning and am still waiting to fine out what the hell is going on...

WHY All ThIS WaITING....

  • Hi , sorry you find yourself here and yes the waiting is the pits. Must be especially tortuous for you at the moment as you haven’t got a date to focus on. It’s good news of course that the second lump was benign but maddening that it’s caused the cancellation of the original surgery date. Can only suggest you keep busy (easier said than done, I know) and come here to rant and rave as much as you like! Sending love and a big virtual hug your way, keep posting and let us know how it’s going. Fingers crossed that you hear about a new date very soon. HFxx

    Well done,

Yes, the waiting is the pits but there are things that have to be done in the background, hence having to wait.  Regarding hearing what's going to happen, the hospital consultants will have a meeting with other breast surgeons to discuss and decide what treatment will be the most appropriate to you.

Once you know what is planned for you, things will begin to fall into place.  Once treatment gets underway, you'll feel you've started your 'journey' towards the finish, and returning to 'living' again.

In the meantime, it is stressful, with lots of questions popping up along the way.  You WILL get there Slight smile

There's lots of support available, both from your Breast Care team and other agencies such as MacMillan / Cancer Care etc, which it sounds you've been in contact with.  Well done for seeking the support you need.  You'll reap benefits

Wishing you all the best Slight smile

  • Hi , glad you have a date at last, so much better to have something to aim for. And also great that you’ve arranged some counselling. It’s definitely an emotional rollercoaster! Love and hugs, HFxx
