Had my 2nd cycle of chemo yesterday and last night was definitely worse I think. Was sick twice and got much less sleep. Feeling a bit low for sure x

  • Hi I was told by my unit that nausea was expected for few days but if I was sick to ring them because they could change meds .

I was on EC what are you on ? Try not to get too low it should only last a few days ......I and a few others find it helps if you can eat little and often . I used to call it feeding the nausea lol Try little boxes in fridge with jelly ,rice ,custard, pieces of fruit ,plain ham etc etc

    good luck

  • Hi

Sorry to hear you are feeling worse this time. You should be able to ring either your chemo unit or BCN and ask for other meds if you're being sick. I know we all tend to accept it and soldier on, but you really don't have to - there are excellent anti-nausea/sickness medications but they don't hand them out routinely because they are expensive, but they'll prescribe them for you if you are being sick.

As Northener said, little and often sometimes works - I ate my bodyweight in rice pudding pots for the first week every cycle. But do get in touch with your unit if you are still suffering.

  • Hi Northerner and Ronstar sorry for the slow response. I did tell them after my first i was sick in the night but he didn't change my meds. I am feeling a bit better today and havent been sick since that first night. Just feeling queasy and very drained. No energy at all.

Hopefully tomorrow I will feel a bit better. Have been trying to eat and drink as much as I am able.
