Hi, I'm awaiting for my biopsy results, such a horrible horrible wait!!! I am having a video call with the consultant and a breast nurse tomorrow morning so am feeling very nervous now!! I had a letter yesterday saying that the biopsy results are likely to be cancer and that I have 3 lumps, I thought it was only 1. Is that normal to have more than 1? Anyone else had this, were they ok?
Hi
Not too long to wait now, but it will seem like the longest time. One thing you will find out (if your diagnosis is cancer) is that there are no two people with the same “symptoms” treatment plans etc, breast cancer comes in many shapes and forms, I was really surprised when I was first diagnosed at this. I had a lump and when I was operated on they found lots of pre-cancerous cells, some starting to become cancerous.Having more than one lump will probably affect your treatment plan, and it may be that they recommend a mastectomy instead of lumpectomy ( I ended up with both) but until you have seen your consultant it is all maybes. What it doesn’t mean is that it isn’t necessarily a worse diagnosis, it seems to more depend on the type of cancer you have and the grade, rather than the number of lumps. It is all so difficult to get your head around isn’t it, I felt it was like learning a whole new language and was in a world I didn’t understand - just try and take one bit of news at a time, and write down any questions you have otherwise you can end up forgetting.
Very best wishes for tomorrow, whatever your results let us know ?

Hi
Sending you some virtual hugs for your meeting in the morning. Sorry to hear that the results are likely to be positive but things will seem much better once you have a diagnosis and a treatment plan. I know that doesn't really make sense but somehow, once you know, you can get used to the idea and begin to deal with everything.
I also had 3 lumps - one main and 2 smaller ones and yes, I'm OK, I also had spread to lymph nodes. We all think the worst when we get a diagnosis but outcomes for breast cancer are excellent and we will help you get through this one step at a time.
Let us know how it goes tomorrow
