Morning all, I’m currently halfway through radiotherapy and I’m having zoladex injections plus letrozole and my right ankle keeps swelling which is the opposite side to the cancer it seems to happen if I’m on my feet a lot but it’s starting to concern me as this is a new symptom I’m scared to mention it to anyone because I can’t deal with another appointment right now, has anyone else suffered with this symptom?xx

  • Hi , sorry you have another trouble. I haven’t had this but I’m sure I remember someone mentioning it in relation to letrozole. If I remember who I will tag them! It might have been ? Sorry if it’s not, memory isn’t great....

Maybe best to mention it at some point? I know what you mean about more appointments but also they may be able to reassure you. HFxx

  • Hi

Hope the rads are going OK and not leaving you too tired.

Firstly, I wanted to say it's never a good idea to postpone mentioning health issues - I know we all do it and I am one of the worst culprits but, obviously when it's someone else I can be terribly sensible and tell you to get it checked.

However - swelling is one of the side effects of Letrozole and there is information on the side effects here.

I don't know if switching brands might help - I'm of a mind to leave things alone if they are not a problem - better the devil you know and all that.

Perhaps a chat with your GP to be sure - they'll do that over the phone so you won't have to go anywhere. Slight smile

Hi there Poppy09. I was suffering terribly from swollen feet and ankles and have taken to lying on the floor and putting my feel up the wall for 20- 30 minutes daily if possible. It is working for me, but I would recommend raising it with your care team, just so they are aware.

    Feel better soon. X
