Hi I can’t sleep

I’m 51 was told on 2/12 my youngest daughters 16th birthday my brother  was found dead a couple months ago but police didn’t try and find us he had a long history of not replying and had alcohol addiction - he’s been with coroner 16 weeks it’s all a huge sad situation.

Then  I had a letter I need more tests after my routine first  age first mammogram

I had vacuum biopsy on calcification and one biopsy on a swollen lymph node

17th/12 result day I have level 2 DCIS clear lymph node biopsy   I’m booked in for lumpectomy and node tests on 11/1

i suffer bad anxiety which triggered IBS D I need the toilet ASAP when stressed and I’ve my appointment 8.30 am - wire inserted  then walk to day surgery this for me is awful we have no car in tier 3 and a few miles from hospital I barely travel as ibs and now don’t know how I’ll deal with all the wire and operation

Keep seeing on forums that DCIS was worse and women needed chemo and mastectomy

consultant said I’ve low end grade 2 and may need radiotherapy I’d have a 6 hour round journey for that a day as no transport and live in the Isle of Wight so = ferrys for mainland treatment so for me with anxiety lead ibs it’s so worrying

ive felt ill all over Xmas sore moth sore throat headache really tired

sorry just venting and I’m so exhusted

Hello, this all sounds exhausting and I hope you managed to get some sleep. What a time you've had and I am sorry to hear about your brothers death. This is enough to make anyone anxious, let alone your dagnosis on top!

The first thing I would do, is get in touch with your GP and see if there's anything he can do to help you manage your anxiety or/and IBS.

Secondly, get in touch with your breast cancer nurse and explain about the travelling. There may be hospital trasnsport available to you or even accommodation.. I'm sure someone with much more knowledge than me will come along soon and give you some more practical advice, but I think you are a definate candidate for some form of transport.

Take care and take control of what you can do xxx

    Thankyou

BCN didn’t care when I told her about my brothers  death or my ibs anxiety she said there’s toilets you can use.

Sadly I thought being a breast Cade nurse she would be empathic but she isn’t

my husband is hiring  a car so that will be better

my gp I spoke to her said take immodim and contact crusie for counselling that was it she can’t give me anything as general anesetic

    Thankyou xx

    Hi,

Are you being treated at Queen Alexandra Portsmouth? If so log on to your I.O.W N.H.S.Trust for further information on patient transport.I have met many patients from there and they are put into a local hotel if needed for an early start etc.All are very complimentary about the service.

So sorry hear about your brother,it is a shock anytime.

Wishing you all the best in your treatment, stay safe.

             Yvie.

P.s just left Q.A onco all running smoothly
