Hi, I noticed a large lump under my breast and up past my nipple on Wednesday night. I poked at the skin had turned red purple quite large area. I saw the doc who has referred me to the breast clinic. She said there was a significant mass on my breast. She also thought it could be an infection (which I doubt) and gave me antibiotics also. I can't eat or sleep and am unable to do anything today. The mark is getting larger and I'm worried about waiting the few weeks for the appointment. I'm so stressed.
Hi Mol42. It is very difficult not to worry at the moment but try not to automatically think it is cancer. You SHOULD get an appointment within 2 weeks but due to covid mine was much longer. All I can say is try to take your mind off it until you have been seen in a breast clinic. Although they have to do scans and biopsies to confirm what it is, the consultant can usually tell if it's something sinister. Please try to remember that even if it is cancer the majority can be dealt with and it isn't the end of the world.
Hi there, if the mass has suddenly appeared and is large it's unlikely to be anything very sinister. Did you feel anything before in bath/ shower? Could the purple be bruising?
