Hi everyone I had a lumpectomy and node clearance on the 13th October last Tuesday. I'm feeling at bit low today I was contacted by the breast care nurses to tell me that my appointment with the consultant about my results from the operation for the 29th October had been cancelled along with all the other appointments on that day. This was due to the demands on pathology due to Covid.  Feeling quite anxious anyway I've been for a walk which was OK but hasn't quite hit the spot.  The anxiety about Covid is weighing very heavily on me.  I'm now going to do my exercises and make some scones to see if that helps. X

  • So sorry you’ve got to wait, this virus has an awful lot to answer for!

in the meantime you’re doing all the right things in keeping up arm and shoulder exercises and keeping busy, but also do give yourself a chance to rest as and when you need to.
I am sending a big hug xxx

  • Hi , OOh scones how lovely -hope they have the desired effect! I had a delay getting my results post-op at the end of April because my surgeon was operating that day.I wasn't happy with the delay but I'm sure those who were operated on were.Keep doing things you enjoy and the exercises of course. Hopefully you will get your results very soon . Sending hugs xx

  • Hi Bridget. Sorry to hear about the delay. I had the same op as you on 10th and my results appointment is 26th. This waiting period is awful and we just want to know what our next steps are following surgery. So I can understand totally how you are feeling. Have you been given a new date?
The idea of scones sounds lovely!! I am off very soon for my second walk of the day. Haven’t done much else today other than have a long chat with a friend who went through this whole rollercoaster 7 years ago - that was definitely a big help and I am very grateful to her for her support.
How are you recovering from the surgery? Hope that it is all going well. Take care and do keep posting x

Hi, that’s a big relief that you have been given a new date.

I’m just about to finish my chemo and I’m a bit concerned that my surgery will now be delayed due to the Covid situation. I live in N Ireland and I’m wondering if anyone else from the same region would have any information to share about this. I understand that you might prefer to keep your location private so I have no expectations of a reply. X
