Had breast cancer in Feb this year. What the cancer taken and all lymph nodes removed. My breast has been swollen and hot so went to breast care last week to he told to massage my breast.  Last weekend I woke to severe pains  in my legs and unable to walk.  Went into hospital where I had a MRI scan then followed up by a bone scan.  I have to wait until Wednesday for all my results.

Not sure if they are connected but I am back under breast care   Haa any Be else experienced unable to walk due to severe pain deep aches in legs and sometimes all over.  No one is saying thus just precautionary measures.   Could my cancer have gone to somewhere else

  • Hi

I haven't had the experience you're looking for but I noticed that your post hadn't had any responses yet. By replying to you it will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussions list where it'll be more easily seen.

It's natural to worry that any new symptoms are related to your breast cancer but you've done the right thing in getting checked out.

Do come back and let us know how you get on with your results on Wednesday.

    Hi Latchbrook

Thank you for your kind words.  There was positive news there was no uptake in the bone.   Then the however comes... the radiologist isn't quite happy and wants to do a CT scan on my chest and upper back..  so still in the dark but maybe not fearing the news as much since having the positive news. Think I should call back and get a clearer picture as I mentioned bloods wasn't replied to and didn't have the chest x ray results with them?  i also have to come off Anastrozole for a month incase this is giving me bone pain.

Again thank you and I hope you've had a good day xx

  • Yes really bad time for you, really sad you have to go through this again, so unfair.

one step at a time and breathe deep and slow - if that didn’t work for me I used to drive to Worthing seafront late at night when it’s deserted and scream until I could scream no more. If nothing else the sea air and the physical effort expended helped my grab a few hours sleep

sending you strength and best wishes x

  • Morning      It's good news that the scan didn't show bone cancer. I don't know if you have heard anymore yet but if you have to worry all weekend perhaps you might like to consider my situation.

I didn't get pain immediately after chemo but after about six months I was struggling to walk. Being triple negative I wasn't taking anything else so something wasn't right. Like you I had a CT scan from which my GP sent me to a neuro  surgeon. He organised an IRM. He explained that although oncologists rarely admit to it, chemo can accelerate problems which might have developed more gradually later. In my case, a decompression operation at L4/L5 was necessary to free the sciatic nerve. Whilst I didn't get back pain, it was this causing the pain in my leg. The op had some success but I had an additional complication so was also referred to a neurologist who found deficiencies in B1,6, and 12 all of which effect the nerves. I have unfortunately several nerves which the Taxotere permanently damaged but I'm not suggesting you have this problem too.   I have now been on a course of these for about a year. I see the neurologist every 3 months.

Physio also helps. I have a very simple exercise I repeat three times every day. I say to the physio it's  like magic!. If your problem turns out to be similar, I'll pm you the details if you contact me.

I hope this information helps a bit with your worries. I know the ' unknown' is awful......

Let me know how you get on.

    Love Karen

  • Good to hear about your good news @DogDavies and looking forward to hearing more good news after your CT scan.

I went through a phase of leg pain/hip pain but luckily it cleared up with physiotherapy.

I'll be watching out for your news and really hope that you will be able to see your grandson. That will be a super tonic for you.
