I finished all my treatments on 12 August. I have been sent an appointment to see oncologist dr on 24 September- is this routine?
Hi
Deffo routine, almost everyone has a post treatment appt after Rads as this is just about the last part of the roller coaster ride.
It gives you chance to discuss any post treatment baggage like peripheral neuropathy, radiotherapy related issues etc, how you are feeling physically / emotionally - Chat about any future issues like reconstruction.
You could make a list of things you would like more info or help with ? The appt is usually only fairly brief but is your last chance to have an onco related chat - As after this you will be probably be released back to your GP.
Good luck with getting used to your new normal, G n' J
Hi paris66
Congratulations on finishing your treatment! If you have been given a physical bona fide appointment with a living, breathing oncologist I would grab it with both hands!!! My end-of-treatment appointment was ‘downgraded’ to a telephone consultation with a nurse...
Good luck!
