Hiya, I was diagnosed in June and can not fault Macmillan and the hospital...
I started chemo and am due 3rd next week, everyone i know or spoken to has had surgery first before the chemo anyone on the same route
it is not hormone related and have had the genetic test already done but results wont be back till novemeber
all i keep getting asked is why you not had surgery
Hi
Just replied to your other post, but I'll paste the reply in here as well, to save you having to find it
Some BC patients don't find out they are Triple Neg until the more extensive post surgery pathology results come through - but if they know in advance that you are TN it is more common to have the chemo sessions prior to surgery (neoadjuvant)
The whole body treatment from chemo with the possibility of shrinking the tumour down prior to surgery is of more benefit.
Have you tried asking this question in the Triple Negative breast group (link) as well ?
Take care, G n' J
