Hi there,
Last year I had 4 x EC chemo which gave me chest pains and palpitations after each one. My oncologist did an ECG before my 4th, which she compared to the one before starting, and said it was fine so despite reservations I continued, then had 7 Paclitaxel.
Since doing chemo I've had raised blood pressure. It was 125/78 on average before, with a little bit of fluctuation, but it's now closer to 150/85!
My oncologist suggested investigating before lockdown, but since March the only contact I've had is a mammogram in July (postponed from April), where they told me I'd get a call back in 7-10 days if there was a problem so presume it's clear. I've stopped the letrozole a few weeks ago as it has trashed my eyes (retinal detachment in the right eye and ulcer in the left since May, which only started healing a couple of weeks ago when I stopped the medication). I think that it also raised my blood pressure as I got/get head pains, dizziness and a pulse between my eyes when I take it. I've decided to try another hormone blocker, but only after my heart/ blood pressure is investigated. Has anyone else had issues after EC, as I know that the E in it can cause heart issues?
Bumping you up Londonmumof2 in the hope there's someone around now who can help
Kindest wishes, Lesley x
