Hi everyone I’m Sam im

45 and I found a lump in my breast as COVID was here I didn’t go doctors straight away as I didn’t want to other them as I thought it was a cyst , well dr refereed me to Birmingham breast clinic I only waited a week for my appointment which was last Wednesday, had 3 way breast assessment and biopsy I was worried at this stage so I called my daughter who works at the QE hospital and she came straight over the Dr then called me in and said im

afrsid from the clinical findings today you have breast cancer and we will decide what treatment you can have after biopsy I’m devastate

  • Hi ,

Sorry to find you here but you have come to the right place. Lots of informed information from people who have been there and bought the t shirt. The waiting for the results of the biopsy is the worst part . Once the doctors have the results they will propose  a plan for your treatment. Have they told you when to return to the clinic?

Breast cancer is very treatable these days and results are good . Please do NOT go on Dr. Google most of the information on there is well out of date and somewhat sensational. Apart from this thread you can contact Macmillan nurses who will be able to explain things to you and hopefully answer your questions. You can also speak to your Breast Care Nurse if you have been allocated  one.No  question is too silly to ask except for the one you don't ask. Try and be kind to yourself in the meantime and do things you enjoy doing whether that be reading, craft work or listening to music (not an exclusive list  but hopefully you get the idea )

I hope you get your results quickly and are able to take your daughter with you. I took a notebook with questions that I had dotted down as I thought of them and asked any that weren't already explained by the Consultant. Your mention of the QE brought back happy memories for me as I trained there a long time ago.Sending you big hugs xxx Kwissy

  • Hi

I had my dx at aged 43. It is very easy to think that every ache and pain is linked to bc - it might not be! I had terrible back ache when I had my first dx,and I was so worried but I am here 4 years later and all is ok,

  • Hi Sammy74

how are you today? Thought I would check in with you! Been awake a few hours, as my sleep pattern has been shocking since my biopsy. And my appetite has gone. Hopefully this will get better once I have a plan in place.

How are you getting on with bruising after the biopsy? I have a huge yellow bruise covering 1/3 of my breast, with a few smaller purple bruises, it’s feels a lot better, still tender. Think the worst bit for me is the lump. I had a very soft lump, which was difficult to feel, as it moved, and was very squishy. I was convinced it was a cyst, as my GP, mentioned a possible cyst, although she didn’t say it was,  (which obviously it is not) but since the biopsy my lump feels huge, hard and tender. Was told to expect this, but it’s feels awful, and feels quite shocking as it’s never felt hard.

Hope you are doing okay, and you are coping well, and your managing to keep yourself busy XX

    Hi sam xx

Your story sounds alot like mine, except breast cancer took my mum when i was 15 so all my life i'v been worried for myself, well in march this year after i found a lump it took around 15  days for me to see a doctor, have the biopsy then the 13mm lump removed and my lymph nodes tested. Even tho i'v dreaded it my whole adult life hearing those words ...YOU HAVE CANCER broke my heart xx

Bbe you are not alone ...really you are not
