Hi everyone. I m about to start my 4th round of chemo and even though i've been using a cold cap, i've lost a lot of hair and have quite a few bald patches. I've just gotten a wig. Has anyone else wore a wig and how did you get on with it.
Hi
yes I got a wig in advance of losing hair . I didn't use cold cap and was on EC so def to lose hair .For me I chose to ask hairdresser to cut it short and keep tidy rather than shave .
It was winter so I wore hats more than wig but when wearing wig make sure you use a scalp cap / net .
I kept scalp moisturised with aqueous cream to keep scalp itch at bay .
Had hair no 2 shaved just before last chemo so it had shape to grow back to . Went into shielded in March bald had hairdresser at home last week for tidy up trim lol So not to worry it does grow back .

Hi allspot
I have worn a wig since lost hair on EC part of chemo. I never had any issues and they made me feel better as I did have alot of long hair. I have recently ordered a long brown wig of Amazon its absolutely gorgeous I was very surprised fantastic quality, and believe me I wouldn't go out in it if it didn't look 100% natural which it does .

Hi,
I luckily got fitted for my wig last October. With the FEC have got bald spots even though using cold cap. I’ve had loads of compliments on my wig and it does look really natural. I’m just more paranoid people notice but as time goes by that gets better. It does get a bit itchy if I wear it for long periods. Also have seen ladies with wigs and didn’t notice really thought it was there own hair. Good luck xxx
Hi
I'm having my 4th chemo next week and like you did cold cap for the first two sessions then had alot of hair come out so decided not to cold cap anymore. Hair became very thin and got really patchy so yesterday I buzz cut. I have bought a wig which is very natural and I love. I think we all worry how it looks and can people tell it's a wig but alot of people I've seen you wouldn't know. Friends and family compliment me on it. Havent found it too hot or itchy.
