Good morning!
as my 1st annual mammogram and check up has been cancelled, I’ve been looking round to see if a mammogram is available privately but it seems they’ve all been stopped and their resources channelled into the nhs. (As I’m a private patient the nhs doesn’t know about me)
I did find a company called medscan who do thermographic breast imaging and it sounds very positive. My health insurance doesn’t extend to this so I’ll have to pay myself, it’s around £2/300.
has anyone had any experience of this type of scan and would it be worth it?
ive asked about reverting to the nhs but my gp says I won’t be seen until next year at the earliest as they are trying to clear their own backlog, unless I need an urgent referral which would then be a new condition.
Hi ruthie2,
Just found your post... how did you get on, did you do anything about this?
I am sure by now many private places will or are doing mammograms. I think there are many different types of mammograms now, including 3-D and ultra-sound, many say for the larger lady ultra-sound is very good.
Any sweet, just wondering how you have got on.
Sending love and hugs xxx
