Hello
Does anyone know how an NPI score is calculated? What criteria do they take into account? I was told my NPI will show on my pathology report,
Isn't it just a different was of working out prognosis like Breast Predict? Wikipedia has a link https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nottingham_Prognostic_Index
Though you also look at this https://breast.predict.nhs.uk
I presume that you have the measurements, grade, modal involvement etc? I don't think either include LVI, which is another risk factor.
How are you doing? I hope that things are ok, and you have support from friends and family if not at home:( xx
Hello
Nil support at home. Family are great. Yes I had phone call from surgeon to say that I had complete pathalogical response to treatment and no signs of cancer. She mentioned no LVI and 2 nodes were involved but chemo had killed it. I looked at the NHS predict but is it accurate and does it include radiotherapy? I wasnt sure what the NPI was.
Love julie x
That's great news about your response!! Yay!
NPI is Nottingham Prognostic Index which is similar to Breast Predict. As you had chemo first I'd imagine it would be based on before chemo, but I don't know. The fact that you had a complete response is brilliant though, as you're much less likely to have the odd 'sleeper cell'!
