Hi all
I was diagnosed in March this year. I’m just waiting for my 3rd op to remove my nipple. I’ve been taking tamoxifen for just over two months. I haven’t had a alcoholic drink since then, as I read alcohol increases the estrogen in your body and as my cancer was estrogen positive, I have anxiety’s about touching it again! I’ve tried to research the effects alcohol has on tamoxifen and it’s very conflicting. Has anyone been given advice on whether it is safe to drink or if it stops the tamoxifen from doing its job effectively? I’m not thinking on going on a bender any time soon, but I’d like to enjoy a glass of wine without it sending I to a panic attack!
Many Thanks
Hi,
I'm on Femara an Aromotase Inhibitor as I'm post menopausal, my tumour was hormone positive, my Consultant knows I have a glass of wine per night and was ok with that amount.
Thank you for your reply. I’ll speak about it with my consultant and go from there ️
Hi,
I am on Letrozole for oestrogen positive BC. My oncologist says it if fine to drink alcohol.
Cancer Research UK says ANY alcohol increases the risk of the cancer returning. So I don't...at all.
