Just joined the group. I’ve had my first treatment of chemotherapy and gladly no side effects apart from hair thinning. I’ve not read the whole forum but I’m receiving TC chemotherapy which is Taxotere and Cyclophosphamide. Has anybody else had this treatment if so how did they find it. I’m finding the worst part of having cancer is hair loss as it just reminds me every time I look in the mirror. Do the majority of woman feel like this or am I just being vain?

  • HI

Sorry you post hasn't had a reply yet.  I didn't need chemo.  but even so, no you're not being vain because when I got confirmation that I didn't need chemo (ER+ HER2 negative too - but no spread to lymph nodes, hence no chemo.) all I could think about was thank goodness I wouldn't lose my hair!  I didn't even consider the side effects of pain/discomfort etc to do with chemo - just the hair loss.  I hope you continue not to suffer too many other side effects with your treatment.

There is a BC chemo thread in this group, where you might want to try posting as the ladies on this particular thread will be having treatment now, same as you.

Alternatively, by my answering you post, it has bumped it up to page one and there may be someone who sees the post now who wasn't around yesterday.

    Kindest wishes,

    Hi

I am Her2 negative and   er+ but 2 out of 6 lymph nodes showed cancer so hence starting chemo on 28th May. We all worry about losing our hair you may find the posts on May Chemo 2020 forum helpful. Have a look. There are at least 4 of us who have recently started chemotherapy and there are lots of helpful tips and advice.

You are certainly not vain  as we all have these feelings.

    Take care

    Linda xx
