Good afternoon,
I hope you all doing very well. I need some answers and i wish some one can help me. I have BC stage 2 HER2 positive, lump is over 8cm. Im on chemotherapy now, doing 8 cycles. Already i had 4 cycles and 4 more to go, im having every 3 weeks cycle. So after chemotherapy two weeks all good, but on third week im start feeling my lump pain and on night time even feeling how is moving, are this normal?
Many thanks
Hello Tatyana
I have her2 positive breast cancer too and I could feel pain in my lump and breast during chemotherapy. It sometimes felt like a pinch and then a dull pain. Its probably because its shrinking xxxx
Hi Tatyana,
I also had her2 positive breast cancer, I used to get a lot of pain when I was having chemo, I would agree it’s hopefully the lump shrinking
i used to worry as I would google and everywhere would say breast cancer doesn’t hurt and I would think the worst as mine was painful, I had 2 lumps one of them shrunk completely and the other one shrunk a huge amount too.
Good luck with the rest of your treatment, your over halfway through the horrible stuff, I hope you are starting to see light at the end of the tunnel
Stay safe
Dawn
xx
hello dawn
I'm still having treatment, you are beyond it all now? How are you getting on? How big were your tumours? Was it in your lymph nodes?
Julie x
Hi Julie,
I was diagnosed in September 2018 and started chemo within a few weeks, I had 3 cycles of ec then 4 cycles of docetaxol/herceptin/pertuzumab the last one I had was in January 2019, I then carried on weekly with herceptin and pertuzumab I had my last infusion 4 weeks ago I had a delay in treatment for a few months as I had to have a tooth out!
My rumours were not very big 2cm and the other one was 1cm, I could feel the larger one and it felt bigger to me!
i had a lumpectomy in March 2019 and I didn’t get clear margins they also found a couple of cells in my lymph nodes so I had to have a further lumpectomy and have my lymph nodes removed, they found no further trace in my lymph nodes but it was best to be safe!
I started radiotherapy in June I had 18 lots of this I then had a weeks break and went back to work as I didn’t feel to bad from it.
I’m getting on great I had a few issues with my arm from the surgery I had physio it’s better than it was now.
I still get pain in my breast I panic then I tell myself it’s scar tissue and nerves still healing, I was meant to have a mammogram last month I hoped this would reassure me but it was cancelled, I know I’m fine but it’s just that little niggle has it come back silly really but I think after going through this you worry about every little pain lol
my hair started growing back in May 2019 it’s now a mad curly mop I would say like a bob strangely my fringe is much shorter lol not all the hair on my body has come back very strange.
oh I forgot today where they did my operation although both the tumours were her2 the smaller one turner out to be normal too so I’m on tamoxifen for the next 10 years, I was worried about the side effects but I’m doing great on it.
i hope this helps you a little, it was bad enough going through it when I did but it must be a thousand times worse for everyone going though it now with this bloody horrible virus, I was told to shield because I was still receiving treatment which effect the immune system.
Best of luck with your treatment
Dawn xx
I really should have read that back more throughly lol
the smaller lump was not normal lol it’s was hormonal which is why I’m on tamoxifen!
blooming auto text only just see I put rumour instead of rumour lol
Hello
Thanks for your reply, my tumour is 2cm and the other one is 8mm. I've finished chemo now. I had fec and then docetaxel herceptin and perjeta. I'm starting herceptin injections after my surgery. I have cells in a lymph node under my arm that they biopsied. After 2 fec treatments my lumps disappeared! My recent MRI showed a complete pathalogical response although let's see what happens after surgery. It's good to hear your positive outcome
Thanks julie x
Julie,
Thats all very positive news for you, amazing!
i was meant to just have herceptin injections in the first one was just herceptin, then they told me new guidelines meant I could carry on with the herceptin and the perjeta but this meant herceptin was no longer given as an injection and I had to be infused with them both yes it takes longer than the injection but if they want to give me extra drugs to stop it coming back then I will take that!
our lumps, lymph nodes and treatment sound very similar!
Best of luck with the rest of your treatment, hopefully it will flyby for you
Dawn xx
Best of luck to you too, it’s a difficult time but you will get through it xx
It really scares me that it's in my lymph nodes
